  1. The first step is the process of data collection. Data collection may be done in different ways depending on the type of data and the source. Generally, data in the raw form may have errors or may have missing values so once data is collected data cleansing is done. 
  2. Next is to analyze the data using different statistical techniques to analyze the data and extract useful information. 
  3. After data has been analyzed, results need to be reported. This stage gives insights to the organization through which the organization makes decisions, 
  4. After analyzing the report, the process needs to be improved. This involves changing how data is analyzed. 
  5. Building a culture in which everyone uses data to make decisions. This involves training the employees to access data and give access to the tools they require.

Essential Skills for Data Analysts:

  • Understanding of SQL- also known as Structured Query Language is the most requested skill among employers and is foundational to data analytics.
  • Statistical programming- Learn statistical programming like Python and R.
  • Machine learning- a subset of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning creates more accurate predictions over time with the more data it processes.
  • Data Management – the practice of collecting, organizing, and storing data in an efficient Manner.
  • Data Visualization – presenting the data in the form of a chart, graph, map etc.
